Stainless Steel 1.4122 round bars are martensitic steel with good corrosion resistance.These 1.4122 square bars also work well in moderately corrosive and low chloride containing environments. The wear resistance and mechanical properties of the steel are amazing. The 1.4122 grade round bars have medium-high hardness characteristics. The corrosion resistance of 1.4122 is comparable to that of ferritic grade 430 steel. It is also better in comparison to other steel grades. The square bars made from 1.4122 have good strength, and wear resistance, as well. The higher carbon content in this grade makes it less weldable. The Cr and Mo additions to the alloy gives it combined properties like high strength and enhanced corrosion resistance. The grade is used in many industries like food processing, automotive, pump shafts, drive shafts, mechanical engineering, construction, cutting tools, freshwater boat shafts, control valves and retaining rings.
